Save Amazon Rainforest from Devastation Brazil is home to the 60 percent of Amazon rainforest also known as the lungs of the earth. Amazon rainforest borders nine countries — Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. It is known for its biodiversity. According to Greenpeace, there are 40,000 plants species, around 400 species of mammals and approximately 1400 different species of insects and birds. Today, this amazing wonder of nature is at risk of deforestation, loss of habitat to its various species of plant, animal, birds and insects worsened by the impact of wildfires.  Amazon rainforest has been burning since 2019 that has ruined approximately 1 million hectare of land. The fires continue to rage in 2020 soaring and destroying the environment and its inhabitants. This precious natural resource is pivotal to curb the impact of climate change as it stabilizes the climate providing food, medicines, water and wood to the region
